Suck It Up And Move On
Getting over somebody is possibly one of the hardest things to do. Not being able to move forward because you are still holding onto the previous relationship can be emotionally, mentally, and maybe even physically unhealthy. The truth is, there is an end to everything, including relationships. Some result in pain and some may result in relief. While it may be difficult to get over somebody, in most cases, the best remedy is to simply suck it up and get over it.
Easier said than done, right? Right. It’s not the end of the world that the previous relationship ended. Just realize one important thing: your life will continue. Yeah, the activities you did with that person will not be the same again, but hey, there are other people out there who will enjoy doing those same activities with you. For years, I would only go to Cirque du Soleil shows with a certain person. Now that there’s another Cique du Soleil show in town, I really want to go with that certain person again, but I cannot. It would be stupid of me to not attend any future shows just because I won’t be going with that certain person anymore. Many people like watching Cirque du Soleil shows, I’ll go with one of them.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with doing the same activities with a different person. Being in a new relationship does not mean you have to do completely different activities from the previous relationship. What you should avoid is doing the same activities for the same situations. For example, do not go to the same restaurant for your first date, and don’t get the same gift for an anniversary. Don’t bring past scenarios into new relationships. It’s unfair for the new person. You are simply reliving the previous relationship, and that just shows you haven’t gotten over the last person at all.
If you’re scared, go to church.
